TLC Therapeutic Workshops

I lost my wife in October 2019 after battling cancer for over 5 years. Following her death, I was depressed and lost. I was in ground zero and desperately needed to rediscover my 'mojo'.

A friend suggested 'TLC Therapeutic Workshop' in One Community, and my first visit was the spark that started me to recovery. The group approach made me understand and appreciate the challenges other members were undergoing and the efforts taken at resolutions. The speaker was very helpful with hands-on advice. Most helpful for me was having a speaker who easily identified with the challenges of the group, thereby breaking down barriers to healing.

It's been over 2 months since I completed the session, and I am in a better place. I am now comfortable with speaking out and meeting people. I have applied for volunteer opportunities and hopeful for a positive response. most importantly, I am growing in confidence in my ability to cater to my family's needs.

I would recommend the TLC Therapeutic Workshop to anyone who finds him/herself in the dumps and is serious about finding respite.

This is my testimonial explaining my situation and my heartfelt appreciation to Bernice Barning my first point of contact at One Community drop-in centre. A couple of weeks ago, I found myself in a scary place. Universal Credit was refusing to pay me any monies at all because I couldn't provide a tenancy or written letter.
